I'm very saddened by the passing of William Hutt earlier today. (He played
Charles Kingman in Season 3 of "Slings and Arrows" which starred Paul
Gross
which is the flimsy Due South connection.)
I've enjoyed Hutt's performances at Stratford for years, but he's had a
special place in my heart since he played a particularly heart-wrenching
tramp in "Waiting For Godot" in Toronto a few years ago. He had me crying
as he delivered one (sad) speech while looking right at me. And he's had
me
crying ever since! (Certainly in "Slings and Arrows.")
I'll miss him.
