I just saw on Amazon.com that the complete first season (1977) of CHiPs
will
be on sale June 5th!! Amazon's got it for $27.99 USD and have a link to
Emergency! Season 3. You can get both for $57.98 USD which will hopefully
result in new sales for Season 3.
The CHiPS set will be 6 DVDs and have 22 episodes, I don't know if they're
single or double sided. Hopefully a lot of E! fans that also liked Ponch
and
John will go out and purchase this set so Turner Home Entertainment (they
own the rights to CHiPS and used to air it on TBS in the wee hours of the
morning) will decide to do more seasons.
After discovering this and the fact The Wonder Years are still on my cable
system every night, this has been a very good week. It's great to have all
of the shows from my childhood back on DVD, I just finished watching
Season
One of Family Ties. I saw CHiPs in syndication and that show single
handedly
made me want to be a policeman...although I didn't end up becoming one.
In other 70s/early 80s TV DVD news, Rockford Files Season 4 is out May 15
and The Fall Guy Season 1 is out June 5 as well.
Now, if I could just remember that series I used to watch (and have very
vague memories of) that I believe starred Lorne Green as a fire fighter...
