Wildfire in LA's Griffith Park Forces Evacuations

   LOS ANGELES -- Firefighters are taking advantage of cooler
morning temperatures to aggressively attack the Griffith Park fire.

.......40 percent contained

About 600 acres have burned

-- Griffith Observatory, the LA Zoo, the Autry Museum and
golf courses -- were evacuated shortly after the fire erupted


The blaze started Tuesday about 1330 PDT.

Firefighters worked through the night and aircraft have been
dropping retardant onto the blaze.

Authorities say they are questioning a person who walked
out of the brush onto a golf course after the fire started.
