Firefighter/Specialist is the LaCofd's formal title for Engineer. It's
just Stoker's proper rank:) It donotes that Mike is a firefighter with
specialized training to be able to drive the engine and operate it's
pumps.
In some departments, there is no engineer's rank. A firefighter is
rotated to do the job for a given ****ft.
An Engineer like Mike will operate the snorkel if assigned to a
snorkel truck, the ladder on a ladder truck, etc.:)
