It's a problem with all of them. I'm on disc 4 right now and while
some episodes are better than others, all of the transfers are from
old well-worn copies. The sound sis varying degrees of muddy and the
picture, when it's not scratchy or jittery, has that oversaturated
golden tone you often see with old film. It's not a DVD issue. It's
the fact that Universal used old prints that they didn't bother to do
any pre-processing to on this season, unlike earlier seasons. I
understand that the Columbia House tapes were made from better quality
originals than these.
