Stupidity induced sleep deprivation

I think I mentioned at some point that my hobby of late, and the only 
outdoorsy thing I do on a regular basis, is target archery. So yesterday,
the 
nice UPS man brings around the brand new, fancy-schmancy rest (thing the 
arrow sits on) I ordered a little while ago. I open it up and attempt 
to install it only to realize that it doesn't quite fit my bow. Now at
this 
stage, a sensible person would take the brand new item and contact the
store 
to see if they will (a) accept a return and (2) find out whether they have

something more suitable. An idiot, on the other hand, would be up until
2:00 
a.m. with a dremel tool and a set of files. Having gotten myself into a
good 
and agitated state by then, I couldn't fall asleep until 4:00. I am now 
running on coffee. 

I used to be able to function on a couple of hours sleep. When the hell
did 
that stop, and why wasn't I informed?
