Darwin personally never had any theories on the origin of life, afaict
he never did any research into that.

The only known speculation of his is from a private letter; as you could
see from the contents it was a problem he found interesting to think
about, but it had little to do with his work.

It's semantics, but referring to any kind of abiogenesis as Darwinism or
evolution is just wrong.  That's the point being made here.
