I saw this episode, and there are encouraging signs of improvement.
One is the introduction of quiet, more serious moments among the
comedy scenes, a la Frasier, as near the end when Chuck and Kelly
discuss revealing to their daughter Gracie that Chuck is her father.
Mind you, the conversation took place in a dumpster!
