I hate that it has gone downhill, but reality shows are here to stay. The
networks figured out they could make money on shows without paying high
dollar salaries to known actors. There are still a few good non-reality
shows on TV, but not any comedies that I can think of. The Office was
pretty funny during the first two seasons, but it has really gone to crap
this year IMO with the exception of the Benihana Christmas episode. My

is Earl is moderately funny, but nothing that will be on the air five
years
from now. Hollywood isn't trying to find the next great writer anymore,
it
is trying to find the next idea for a reality program that will stay on
the
air 2-3 years.
