If the show was intended to be delayed by tape, color video tape recorders
did exist and it would have been CBS, not G-T, that made the tape for
later broadcast. This also means that CBS owned the tape, and it was
normal for networks to erase and re-use video tapes because they were very
expensive. So, a videotaped show would be aired in color, but G-T's B&W
kinescope would be all that survived for posterity.
