I should know by now not to try to defend Elizabeth to the Liz-haters, but
I
can't stop myself.
She wasn't impaired. She was over-tired and dozed off. Not an excuse,
but
an error in judgment that was at worst, negligent. Everyone else was
either
grossly negligent or reckless. Nicholas was physically and mentally
impaired and should never have taken the wheel. Carly was distracted by
using her cell phone - she should "hang up and drive" - and let's not
forget
she knew she hit something too, and has done it before - to Elizabeth!
(okay, that last part is not relevant here, but I feel about Carly pretty
much the way you feel about Elizabeth - everything she does or says grates
on my last nerve). Monica was impaired because she was drunk driving;
and,
in my opinion, she is the worst of the bunch because of the way she tried
to
cover it up - no surprise for a Q. At least Elizabeth and Nicholas have
displayed consciences. There is a lot wrong with this whole scenario, but
singling out Elizabeth seems biased to me. While Sam truly didn't deserve
this, given all that she has done, I have a lot of trouble mustering up
any
sympathy for her.
That being said, I agree that the "Jake" excuse is lame in this instance,
and is getting over-used by Elizabeth, Jason, and Lucky.
