I agree with everything you said except that Michael's *completely*
egocentric. I think his fear of Sonny was what drove him away, not so
much fear of what he had done or that he might get into trouble. He
*knows* how his dad deals with people who hurt someone he loves.
Egocentric? Yeah. How could he not be? But I really think he ran
because he was sure his dad would literally kill him for hurting Kate.
Sonny did that to his kid. I hope he agonizes over it when he finds
out for sure. He already suspects but he hasn't agonized much yet. He
was more or less shrugging it off yesterday in his scenes with Kate.
He'll probably tell Michael that Kate didn't die so let's just forget
about it.
