The fact that she didn't actually "check out" of the hospital, but
rather left AMA (Against Medical Advice) pretty much absolves the
hospital of responsibility for Liz's impaired driving. Robin tried to
get her a ride, but she refused. And Patrick mentioned meds.

When she got to the safe house, she told Jason she thought's she'd "hit
a curb or something," but admitted that she didn't really know because
she'd fallen asleep at the wheel. That would have been the time to
mention to Lucky that she may have hit something -- she KNEW Sam was in
the hospital after a hit and run.
