I never saw the original scene either, but I have heard enough about their
original relation****p to guess that that was supposed to be what we were
seeing.  

And, in any case, I still agree with PJ above that a woman who is
desperately in love with the father of the baby she's carrying doesn't
fantasize about another man when she's on the verge of death.  I think
that
pretty much sounds the death knell for Carly's 7th (8th?) marriage.
