Yeah--it was cute for a short time.  So I guess the writers thought it
would be a great idea to do the same with Emily.  If you are going to
kill them--kill them and let them go.  But personally I was very upset
they let Alan die.  Another example of letting classic characters
die.  It is probably easier for the writers to do that than be
creative and give them a decent storyline.
