The Quartermaine Brothers

Someone said something about being surprised that Monica has turned on
Jason, and it got me to trying to remember the relationship among the Drs
Quartermaine and their sons when the boys were younger.  I have in mind
that
they were very much divided and Alan favored one of the sons while Monica
favored the other.  I can't remember now, which son was which parent's
favorite though.  The only clear memory I have is of Monica talking to
Sean
Donelly when they were having their affair and saying that the only thing
she wanted (had gotten?) from her marriage to Alan was her son, AJ.  That
was about 1984 or 85.  It seems to me though that later on Jason was her
favorite while Alan was always championing his namesake.  Does anyone
remember which one was Monica's "fair-haired"(not literally) child?
