 In the beginning, she refused to let Jason live there since he was
actually 
Susan's son. Then Heather took care of him until Alan and Monica got
custody 
of him---she only let Jason live with them to annoy Susan and Jimmy Lee
who 
were trying to get Jason and his trust fund. She still didn't want
anything 
to do with him for the longest time. Mostly both boys were away at
boarding 
school...which is Soap speak for out of sight, out of mind since children 
are normally only props to be trotted out for atmosphere or story line.

 Then later I remember her spoiling and fawning over Jason shamelessly and

riding AJ's ass just as hard. But AJ became the darkly disturbed drunk 
brother and Jason was going to be the fair haired doctor child, following
in 
his beloved parent's footsteps. I think he was even going into cardio if I

remember correctly. After the accident, Monica was shattered. She was also

the first one to make peace with Jason and who he became after the
accident. 
Besides Emily. It was weird...for years I kept expecting him one day to
wake 
up and return to the OLD Jason. He never did.
