Oh, dear lord.  Another brilliant child who turns up brain damaged?  Is he
going to come back as a Borg like his Uncle Jason??

I'm not surprised by this.  Michael has stayed on board through several
awkward years that are rarely shown on soaps.  His lines and scenes seem
to
be mostly unrealistic lately, and it's like nobody can decide if he's
really
a kid or a small adult.  I almost laughed out loud a week or so ago when
Carly said earnestly to Jax that "Michael's always wanted a baby sister!"
Puh-leeze.   I've never met a 10-12 year old boy in my life who expressed
a
desire for a baby sister!

Preteens aren't much use in interesting storylines, so we can expect him
to
come back shortly before his 18th birthday for a summer of teen scenes,
until he quickly morphs into adulthood.
