I think we all are so jaded by the ongoing violence that is GH that 
Michael's tragic shooting is just another gimmick even though it's 
re****tedly intended (per a Guza statement in a column at entertainment 
weekly.com)  to be a culmination of 10 years of mob related storyline.

There's been a few times I've cried because of the emotional power of a GH

story (BJ's death comes to mind),  yet Monday's show left me unaffected. 
Maurice Benard as Sonny looked bored and I didn't feel any connection with

Laura Wright's Carly as she cried.

Wasn't it ridiculous when Sonny was saying to Michael "I've been shot many

times and been OK"?  and then do I remember it correctly that he mentioned

Carly getting shot in the head, but forgot to mention he was the one who 
shot her?

Bleh.
