I missed when Carly came to PC, slept with half the men in town, starting
with her stepfather, then abandoned her newborn to Jason after not telling
his real father that the child existed. When I started watching, she was
married to AJ, had the hots for Jason, and shortly thereafter jumped into
bed with Sonny.
Excuse me for questioning whether a woman who acts in such a fa****on has
any
business judging who is a fit or unfit parent for her child! I've always
had a problem with women who think a man is wonderful while they are
having
*** with him, but then change their mind and suddenly decide he is a lousy
father and has no rights to his child when she is no longer enamored of
him.
If the man isn't good enough to be a father then why would you have ***
with
such a lowlife in the first place? Doesn't that make you a slut of the
first order whose judgment about people isn't worth diddley squat?
I've also never been clear on Robin's actions in revealing Michael's
paternity because the account changes a bit depending on whether the
person
telling it likes Robin and hates Carly or vice versa. It would seem a
given
that a father has the right and responsibility to know about the existence
of his child unless the child is the result of rape or *****. So it
seems
that the major debate is whether Robin did the wrong thing for the right
reason or the right thing for the wrong reason.
And, genetics aside, I'm not sure how great a parent Jason would have been
in those days. Nowadays, he is a lot less Borg-ish and seems capable of
showing love, but in those days he was pretty emotion-less, and there have
been a lot of studies about how poorly kids do when they have their
physical
needs met but don't receive any love and physical affection.
The other thing we need to remember is that even though Robin has been
vilified for years for telling AJ the truth is that unless Carly was
inclined to take her baby and move far away, the truth would have come out
sooner or later in one way or another anyway. Notice how long Alexis'
secret about Kristina lasted.
