Ah, you mentioned the very reason that I think they could walk away.
You say *without witness protection* and I say Sonny and Jason have
enough money to do for themselves the same things that witness
protection could. Spinelli could whip up new identities and off they
could go. THEY DON'T WANT TO!

As for Robin, she hates Carly. That's true and it's justifiable. But
this time, she talked to Sonny about seeing Michael because it's the
right thing for Michael. Can't you see that? Michael is lying there in
a coma. Many physicians believe (and coma patients have attested to)
the fact that coma patients can hear what's being said to them.
Michael has no real idea of what has happened to him; he just knows
that something is wrong. Robin is right (as was Jason who told Sonny
the same thing) in saying that Michael needs to hear his father's
voice. Michael needs his dad right now most of all. Sonny is Michael's
father by adoption and that's pretty darned real. Undermining Carly
had nothing to do with Robin's conversation with Sonny. She was
thinking of Michael.
