Nope. Didn't notice that. I just assumed that because of her past as
a con-woman and a grifter, she would somehow manage to ac***ulate a big
stack of chips whenever she was NEAR a casino!

I have NEVER liked Kate. She came on as a mean-spirited, snobby
pretender and she's never gotten any less two dimensional since she's
been on my screen. I didn't like her "defense" that hit and run was OK
since "that car was worth less than my handbag" and I don't like the
way she's treated her assistants since the ill-fated Clarisse. I
didn't like her immediate reaction upon meeting Carly, nor did I like
the way she's treated Carly ever since. (I think Carly is too NICE to
her, considering that the first thing Kate did was insult her, and the
second was insult her kids and the third was to insult her parenting
skills. I know I'm in the minority here, but if anyone ever treated me
as poorly as Kate has treated Carly, I don't think I'd BOTHER being
polite to her no matter who she was shagging!)
The revelation that Kate had a long term affair with Trevor, who is a
slimey as they come and who was married at the time hasn't endeared her
any more to me. Nor has the fact that she knows Sonny is a cheat and
doesn't care -- although it does make her less of a hypocrite than, say
Dixie Cooney Chandler Martin Lawson Bodine Martin Martin, the "pure,
sweet heroine" of AMC!

I hated Johnny at first, but he's growing on me. Now if he finally
kicked Lulu to the curb, he'd grow on me even more! I don't like him
as a hero, but as a villain, he could be quite entertaining!

Again we disagree! I LOVE Spinelli, don't get me wrong about that.
But I've enjoyed watching Maxie since she started sticking it to Liz.
She turned out to be totally right about Liz neither loving nor wanting
Lucky, and I think she was right about other things as well. Maxie
jumping in to the Spencer family photos was hilarious! She's not a
GOOD person, per se, but she is fun to watch, and no one is trying to
shove her down our throats as "good". As opposed to other characters
who do bad things, but always seem to get a pass on it because they're
really saints who had perfectly good reasons for all the horrible ****
they pull.

I like Diane, but she's not THAT great!

YUP. The step son seems to be the only child who isn't disappointing,
and he's been talking to (and lord knows what ELSE he's doing to or
with) a hallucination for MONTHS!
