OK I'm not an expert by any means on comas - permanent or otherwise.
But I've always heard you shouldn't say anything in front of the coma
patient you wouldn't say if he/she were awake. That's why it freakin
bugs me no end that Sonny, Carly, Jax, the Postman, Santa Claus,
Claudia, you-name-it, says any horrible thing in front of the kid - how
hurt he is, how hard it is for Morgan to see him, how Jason/Sonny is
going to kill whoever did it, how Sonny saved Kate instead of him (now
THAT'S a confession Sonny didn't have to share), how it's everyone's
fault who sits at his bedside. I have to give Carly credit - her
comforting, normal conversation, uplifting updates, etc. seems more
appropriate than Jason and Sonny's violent soul-baring. When the kid
does wake up (at what - 19 or 20?) I hope he doesn't remember ANY of
what Jason/Sonny ranted about in his room or at his bedside.
