I agree. Anna has always been one of my favorite characters, and as much
as I enjoy seeing her, she has been turned into a joke. While some of
last
summer's "obsessed groupie" was humorous, it was way out of character
for Anna. Years ago when Robin asked her who "Iron Maiden" was, Anna
replied Margaret Thatcher. While Eli Love's music and Iron Maiden's music
are way different, it showed Anna didn't know - or care - about music.
She
was busy working being a spy or a cop. Suddenly she was an obsessed
groupie? Oh please.
Anna has always been a strong woman, and I can see her becoming a
grandmother a bit disheveling, but I think they went way overboard. Some
of my
favorite GH scenes have her in it. I loved the chemistry she had with
Faison when he first was introduced. How Anna was pretending to like
him to figure out what he was up to, but when Tom Hardy (the blonde
actor, not 'Jack' from DOOL) hypnotized her and she admitted with a
mischievous smile she liked his attention.
I did, however, enjoy the conversation between Robin and Anna after they
got back from Luke's casino. When Robin went on a tirade about Patrick
not ever wanting children (blah, blah, blah) and how she doesn't want to
marry him (blah, blah, blah) and Anna looked at her point blank and said
"I don't believe that." At least Robin's mother can still call her out of
her
stupidity. I also liked it when Anna questioned Robin's decision to be
a single mom and how she has it all worked out. Anna was a single mom
because Robert found out she was a double agent and left her before
he knew she was pregnant, so she knows what it's like.
Another thing I don't like is how she and Robert are now. I would have
loved
to see a scene where Anna and Robert talk about what happened on that
boat. I know she got hurt and had amnesia and ended up on AMC, and Robert
did what he did to protect her (lame!), but would it have been so bad to
have
a heartfelt scene between her and Robert talking about it?
