Uh, no. She has to get buy in from a lot of people to bring it back from
the
dead. Studios, networks, cast, crew, etc.
As for your getting pissed at Alexis over her making a career decision,
I'd
like to point you to a song from the Eagles' first reunion album that sums
up my feelings rather nicely. Having other people read into an obsessive
industry writer's comments (one so obsessive he finagled a speaking line
on
the show) things doesn't make it factual. It becomes factual when some of
the involved parties (instead of just observing parties from the
sidelines)
say it's the case.
I know this kind of spurious logic and information gathering is the norm
for
the cinematic industry and its pundits, but it wouldn't even make the
grade
on an episode of L&O or any of the rest of the dreadful police/legal
procedurals, so perhaps it's time to upgrade ones criteria for evidence
collection.
Besides, it's moot anyway. Nothing is going to happen until we get done
with
the WGA, SAG, and DGA strikes, and all indications from the realistic side
of the industry are that this one is going on for a lot longer than most
of
the unwashed think so. (Yes, you're not the only one with industry
insiders)
I for one applaud Lauren as she follows the footsteps of Patrick Stewart,
Earl Hindman, and James Earl Jones in keeping food on the table and a roof
over head. As said in another post, commercial work is not the same as
commercial voiceover work, and with some commercials paying more than the
take from two or three episodes for major companies and their ad spots,
it's
a wise move to make the money and keep working. Like the old joke, What
the
first thing an actor between parts says to you? "Hi, my name is Lauren and
I'll be your waiter."
