BTW, Ani did a great summation of Angel: After the Fall #1-2, but I
just wanted to add:

Those of us who are also comics freaks are certainly going to get the
monthly comics, but I highly recommend that non-comics fans of Buffy
(now) and Angel get the Trade Paperback collections of the comics as
they come out. Buffy season 8's first collection "The Long Way Home"
is written by Joss, who will be "showrunning" the series and having
other writers write it according to something similar to storybreaking
the show. Among the writers will be Buffyverse writers from the show
-- among the first up, Jane Espenson, who ObGg #1: was a staff writer
for s4 of Gg and ObGg #2: has also written for the comics (including a
Jonathan one-shot, "Superstar," so, yeah, Paris's Doyle is
immortalized in ink.) Also, at least one comics writer who also
writes for TV, Brian K. Vaughn, a new staff writer on Lost whose
Marvel Comics series Runaways Joss took over for a 6-issue arc that
hasn't finished yet, has just himself finished a Faith arc that was a
blast.

Also, Dark Horse is reprinting its original Buffy series, which were
published mostly when the show was still going, in a series of
larger-page-count, slightly-smaller-dimensioned Omnibus books. About
12-14 issues per book, arranged in chronological order relative to the
show. It includes a three-part adaptation of the original movie
rewritten to fit the series mythology but is otherwise all new
stories, including a number of stories including Dawn as a sup****ting
cast member in pre-season 5 settings as if she'd been there all along.
Two of the Omnibi (Omnibuses?) have appeared so far with the third
coming in a month or two. James Marsters co-wrote a Spike and Dru
story in one of them and eventually they'll feature at least three
Willow & Tara issues (a one-shot and a two-parter) written by Amber
Benson and her frequent collaborator, Christopher Golden.

If all you get is the s8 TPBs and the Omnibuseses, you'll be fine, and
the s8 TPBs will only be coming out every 6-8 months, as each arc
completes. And you can Amazon them, too.

LORELAI: I am so done with plans. I am never, ever making one again.
It never works. I spend the day obsessing over why it didn't work
and what I could've done differently. I'm analyzing all my shortcomings
when all I really need to be doing is vowing to never, ever make a plan
ever again, which I'm doing now, having once again been the innocent
victim of my own stupid plans. God, I need some coffee.
