Some quick comments on 3-2 and 3-3

Some comments on recently rewatched episodes 3-2 and 3-3.

3-2  Haunted Leg

Emily irritates Lorelai by trying to play matchmaker again.  
Although she does help Lorelai when Christopher crashes Friday 
Night dinner.

Like the way the Lorelai-Christopher-Rory interaction develops in 
that scene.  Christopher, of course, decides that if Rory is upset 
with him it must be Lorelai's doing.  (Which is similar to how 
Emily and Richard tend to react when they have a quarrel with 
Rory.)  Lorelai isn't always good at communicating her feelings, 
but think she did get the main points across--she (and Rory) are 
hurt right now, but things may get better with time.

We also see additional evidence that Rory is attracted to Jess.  
And still in denial about this.

And Kirk asks Lorelai out.  To the amusement of Luke.  I guess he 
only gets jealous over guys that Lorelai actually might like...


3-3  Application Anxiety

Another Rory freak-out (joined briefly by Lorelai).  This time over 
her Harvard application.  Fortunately the freak-out subsides when 
Lorelai thinks of something practical to do.  The Harvard alumnus' 
family was a bit over the top (presumably deliberately) but was 
kind of fun and led to a nice Lorelai-Rory moment.  Interesting 
that Rory seemed to bond more with the "other" daughter than the 
"Ivy" children.  

Some additional plotlines start here.  Lane meets her romantic 
interest for the rest of the year.  And Dean seems to be foreseeing 
an eventual breakup with Rory.  Although it takes place a bit 
sooner than he expects.  And we see it really starting to sink in 
for Lorelai that Rory will be leaving soon.
