I don't question Gore's right to challenge the results of the Florida 
contest. Provisions for such a challenge are part of the election laws 
for that state. What I, 7 of the 9 members of  SCOTUS, and most legal 
scholars believe is that the remedies requested by the Gore camp were 
intended to skew rather than validate or invalidate the results. That 
is, the requested remedies were a blatant attempt to steal the election 
by cherry picking the recount. What was much more disturbing than any 
dishonesty inherent in Gore requested remedies is the blatant dishonesty 
exhibited by the majority of the Florida Supreme Court. (It is even 
somewhat questionable whether they had authority under either Florida or 
Federal law to review the findings of Judge Sauls (the trial judge in 
Gore v Harris).

I'm not versed on the contest in Wa****ngton, but if the Republicans 
employed anything remotely resembling the Gore 2000 Florida strategy, 
their behavior is no less dishonest and reprehensible.
