I wondered that too after the 1980 election in the wake of Iran
Contra where the actor in question should have gone to jail along
with Oliver North and others.

I'd point out everyone seems to want to blame Carter for high interest
rates then.   The interest rates came from Nixon and his wage and
price freeze.
