In the episode where Jess's father shows up he has a conversation with
Luke
where it was revealed that Jess's father ran out on him right after he was
born (he went out to get diapers and never came back). So the season 2
comment is either a continuity error, or referring to one of the many
other
men that Liz hooked up with after Jess's father.
