I found myself wondering all through Luke's idiotic rant what right he
had to pass judgment on Dean the way he did. He's NOT Rory's father,
and he's not even her stepfather, either! What? He doesn't trust
Lorelai enough to make her own judgments as to whether Dean is
suitable enough to date Rory?! That's crap, and if I were Lor, I
would've called him on THAT.

I agree with what you say in parentheses, on both counts, FWIW.

Which is why their separation in Season 5 is UTTERLY RIDICULOUS AND
IDIOTIC.

I have a LOT more rants than raves about season five, I'll admit, but
the Emily-Richard separation probably goes at the top of my list. IT
WAS STUPID, POINTLESS, AND A WASTE OF TIME (I'm sorry, was I
shouting???)!!!

Zach was kinda cute here... big, dumb oaf.

I could hear Lorelai gleefully shouting in her own head: "Huzzah!!!
She finally figured it out!!!"

They got SO lucky with Ed Herrmann, it's not funny. Kelly Bishop,
too, if you think about it.

While this whole interaction between E&R was keeping TOTALLY within
character, it absolutely made me furious to hear them talking this
way. Oddly enough, I found myself just as furious during "Tick, Tick,
Tick, Boom!", for almost the same reasons.

Asshole! Didn't this happen after Rory was arrested, or was it before
that?? ISTR that Lor and Rory's estrangement happened BECAUSE she
(Rory) got arrested... not because of anything having to do with Luke.

I just love the title of this episode, FTR. I just think it's a cool
sounding title.
