HBO Orders 2008 Editions of Concord,
"Flight of the Concords" stars Brat McKenzie and Jamaine Clement as the
"digi-folk" band of the same name. Musical misfits hoping for a big
break.
They're from New Zealand and they have come to New York to make it BIG.
McKenzie, with his slacker mentality, and Clement, with his nerdier
cluelessness, are instantly likable. You root for them in everything,
even if it's something as mundane as having enough money to get food.
You want them, via Murray, to get the gig of their lives. You just know
it's not going to happen.
They shot a video once but had to use a cell phone because they couldn't
afford to rent a real camera.

I'm excited about this-
but yikes- things went *really* bad on the season closer.... The lost
their entire fan base (that one girl), their agent, and even their bongo
player....
Goodness knows how they get out of the next season in 1 piece... KC

Shortly after the renewal announcement, Clement stated in an interview
that the second season would likely consist of fewer than twelve
episodes =96 so they could concentrate on 'quality not quantity'
Mckenzie and Clement plan to write for the second season in Wellington,
New Zealand, before they return to New York City in 2008 for filming.
The band has used up "98 percent" of their old songs in the first
series. They need time to develop new material.
