I didn't catch Moonlight #1, but did catch Moonlight #2. Not much

It looked like they were going to dangle the big reveal, but then Beth
finds out that Mick is a vampire. So no big mysteries for the series. No
big dramatic possibilities; Mick and Beth may eventually hook up, but
that's about it. We find out the main character was mortal in the 1950s,
so
even though he's now immortal, we won't have interesting period flashbacks
unless they revolve around a different vampire.
The writers did give us some interesting questions, such as whether or not
a killer could be redeemed in prison. But they answered their question
too
simply.
