I can understand the comic work. Especially since it should be a
fairly easy gig for an experienced TV writer to knock out one or
two monthly comic scripts in short order. I can't really
understand the work on "The Office" though because he really
doesn't bring anything to it. It's not the type of show that
really lends itself to an individual director's style. It's
sort of paint by the numbers and always looks and feels the
same. Not that Whedon really has much of a discernable
directing style anyways. Is he doing any writing on it?
I don't think I caught his name as a writer in the credits
but I don't usually look for such things in a sitcom and
I just happened to catch his name in the director slot.
I would just figure he'd be more interested in developing his
own properties and getting them going. Heck he was so busy
doing just that during Buffy and Angel's runs that he had
very little hands on with those series for much of their runs.
It seems odd that he'd come back to them later as comix when
he wouldn't have really much of anything to do with them
when they were on air.
