I've been catching up on Dr Who fanfic lately but wouldn't mind taking
a break and reading some good HL fic - any recommended authors or
sites?

It's too bad that there isn't any authorized fiction being published.
There were a couple of novels that I loved.  And some of the stories
from the "Joe" book were really quite charming.  (Liked the Alexa
stories alot.)

With all the talk of the HL universe needing a reboot, it reminds me
that for years I faithfully went to the local independent book store
and picked up my monthly ration of new Star Trek novels.  I read them
all and I've always wondered why they didn't get more credit for
keeping the show alive.  Of course, times have changed - there weren't
dvd sets of shows or Internet fanfiction archives - but I still wander
in to B&N and buy media tie-ins now and then.  Now it's Dr Who or
Battlestar Galactica but if Highlander novels were there, I'd buy
them.  I'd buy an ebook-only series even.
