I went to a Duncan's Birthday Party put on by a Red Hat Society
chapter in Sacramento. I met them at HLWW 8 where they inducted
Amanda and Liz into the Red Hat Society. They call their chapter The
Immortal Divas and half of the members are HL fans.
They inducted me into the Red Hat Society at the party. I got a red
hat with a purple bow, purple Mardi Gras beads, a red kazoo and
numerous other sundries.
We looked at a slide show of HLWW photos including Liz's red hat
induction. Amanda, who is over a thousand years old, got a red hat,
but Liz doesn't meet the age qualifications so she got a pink hat.
Then we settled down to watch HL:TS. Since it was Duncan's birthday,
I selected Duende which was the first episode we watched. Everyone
loved the dancing and the fight scenes. Then someone wanted to see RD
in a comedy episode, so we watched The Stone of Scone. After that,
people began to leave. My hostess got her choice. She wanted to see
Duncan in drag, so we watched Timeless. Then when only she and I were
left, she asked me again what I wanted to see so I selected the Joe in
a tank top episode, The Cross of St. Antoine. She gave me wallpaper
of Joe from that scene which I now have installed.
I got a Sacramento magazine at the Amtrak station and discovered that
the Sacramento Hyatt Regency has a restaurant called Dawson's. <g> We
also passed The Raven Club on my tour of Sacramento.
