Re: It's January, You Know

OK, here's a dog story to cheer up Jerri.  Yesterday I was visiting a
friend whose son named their dog Grendel.  This happened a few years
ago.  Grendel is about four years old.  He's half labrador retriever
and half rottweiler, if you can imagine that.  He's got the face of a
rottweiler and the fur of a labrador.  He's very friendly and
affectionate.  While I was petting Grendel yesterday, I confided to
him that my mother calls me Grendel.  So we're both Grendels, I told
him.  He put his paws in my lap at that point and looked at me.  I was
sure he understood what I had said.  My friend commented that Grendel
likes his name.
