I watched part of the dog show, but tuned out ... as I always do ...
when they started talking about the dark side of dogdom ... why they
bite, how breeding has turned them into useless lumps. My dogs don't
bite and they're generally mixed breed rescues who are just good
doggies.  The doggie show goes pretty much on the same plane as their
whale shows ... they always have to show them being hunted and killed
and sometimes butchered. We have to show the lions chasing down
gazelles and ripping out their throats. I much more enjoyed the show
about scientists trying to reach Absolute Zero. No gazelles had their
throats ripped out for that one.
I know that dogs bite and lions kill gazelles ... but I don't want to
watch it any more than I wanted to take that tour of the
slaughterhouse when I was 7.
