We got some *weather* today - from my window at work I could watch the 
black line of the storm rolling in from the North West as a solid 
wall.  However despite a complete whiteout at times, with sleet, hail 
and snow, not a jot of it remains on the ground, not even as slush. 
Must have been pretty unpleasant for the police covering the 
hostage/siege at a flat near my work this morning.  Noticeably they 
"stormed" the flat (and rescued the hostage) about the same time as 
the blizzard struck.
