I've talked to a surprising number of people who've started watching
Torchwood without ever seeing Doctor Who. Including a few who didn't
even know it had any connection to Doctor Who. Apparently it appealls
to a crossover audience of mainstream viewers who found the ads for
Torchwood appealling on their own merits and became viewers. And some
of these people are now checking out Doctor Who for the first time,
because they like Torchwood!

'Cause it was a hot mess from week one, with reshoots, reimaginings,
and a new show runner every 3 weeks?
