Lots of similar elements. But immortality as a one-off blessing/curse
should make for a different show dynamic. The basic concept is more
like the Wandering Jew than HL:TS. In particular, unlike HL:TS, there
should be no larger-than-life k'immie of the week. [Well, until the
inevitable discovery late in the first season that there are
"others."] And even more different from vampire shows: you don't have
to worry about bad vamp-of-the-week, you don't have the tension of the
main character maybe going rogue, and you don't (necessarily) have a
bunch of well-known weaknesses such as sunlight, garlic, silver, and
wooden stakes in the heart. You can challenge the main character with
regular bad guys, but the battle will be unequal, so it will get old.
So to the extent that it's based on HL:TS, it seems watered down.
