Some of us grew up with the original Dr Who - it started when I was 
five years old (first episode was broadcast the same day Kennedy was 
assassinated), and it _was_ aimed at children, not adults, remember. 
The new format was created by a writer who had grown up with it, but 
never out of it, but while it's still aimed at 10 year olds (as you 
can tell from some storylines <g>), it does have enough to hold the 
interest of adults too.

And David Tennant isn't hard on the eyes at all.  ;-)
