Yeah, there are reasons I don't travel outside McDonalds territory. I
decided at around age 8 that soft-cooked eggs of any variety were no
longer on my personal menu. This has continued to be the case,
accompanied by a horror of other slimy foodstuffs. And brains. You
know you're not going to like the answer when your mother refuses to
tell you what it is. So far as seafood is concerned, I can avoid
it ... generally ... and order salmon when available. Can't say how
many times I was talked into a seafood restaurant and ended up
ordering some fish stuffed with crab. I don't like crab. I don't like
fish unless it is reduced to a small square with tartar sauce and a
slice of cheese. Except, of course, for salmon Which has no slimy
seedweed accompaniments and not served with the head on ... generally.
Oh well. It's Sunday morning. We are in the middle of a semi-blizzard,
and there is a pot of navy beans cooking with garlic, onion, and a
smoked  ham hock. Eventually, I'll make a pan of cornbread and dig in.
Maybe I'll tap the box o' wine in the fridge ...
