Its been a long while since I saw the episode, and I dont recall the
jacket
of the representation. Some possibilities:
1) he was a fan of the bike
2) he was an Indians fan
3) he was native american
4) he just liked the design
5) he stole the jacket because he wanted to be warm and couldnt care less
about the design

had he changed? sure, I'll buy that. it is not uncommon at all for
substance
abusers to get clean and change their lives
as for Richie - of course he did the right thing. in any society, there is
the rule of law. those who take the law into their own hands are every
bit
as dangerous and destructive as those who break the law.
