Yeah ... well-trained. I was comfortable with the two hybrids I
mentioned, but they were not happy creatures. To me, that is the
point. Dogs were domesticated thousands of years ago. Wolves were not.
A hybrid is a creature of two worlds that don't exactly coincide. I
tell ya one thing ... they got a lot of energy. The hybrid that used
to jump into my yard would chase around and around the yard with my
female cattle dog [Australian shepherd]. He was a hungry boy, too ...
and an unrepentant thief. His owner so was *so* proud that she had a
hybrid. She'd announce it as if his breeding were her own doing ...
but she just thought it was cool to have one. He wasn't trained. He
was kept outside, even in the most inclement weather, without
shelter ... because "that's how wolves prefer to live". I donated a
large doghouse that my dogs didn't use ... and he chewed on it
incessantly. And the doors to the neighbor's pretty house, because he
wanted *inside*. That's how people treat their hybrids ... in my
experience... such as it is. My neighbor didn't like me at all ... and
I'm glad she moved far away from me ... I have not the foggiest idea
what she ended up doing with the hybrid. I doubt I'd approve.
