American Gods is brilliant, but I don't like the download format so I
wouldn't read it that way if I hadn't already read it. It's ink and
paper for me--bound and sold at bookstores.

Speaking of books bound and sold at bookstores, I'm currently reading
one. The central character is a Highland Scot named Duncan. As the
novel opens, he's thinking about his mysterious friend named Adam.
Heroes fans will notice Adam's last name. Later in the book someone
uses the line "Who wants to live forever?" Coincidence? It's a
Colonial American murder mystery by Eliot Pattison who has been
writing Tibetan mysteries. Is Eliot Pattison a HL fan? Was he also
tipping his hat to Heroes?
