In the flashback Kit accuses Amanda of having cheated in order to win
the Double Eagle. "Nobody cheated," Duncan interjects. Amanda won't
let Kit have his lucky coin. Duncan pleads with Amanda to let him
have it. "Oh boo hoo!" says Amanda sarcastically. After Kit leaves,
Duncan asks Amanda why she did that. Amanda says it's because Kit
called her a cheat.
In the present Kit is trying to convince Duncan to help him buy the
horse. He asks Duncan if the horse is worth it. Duncan asks how much
the owner wants. Kit tells him $120 K. "That's about right," says
Duncan. Duncan feels a buzz. He tells Kit it's Richie and goes to
meet him. Richie tells Duncan that Amanda found out he's at the race
track. When Kit comes toward them, Richie tells Kit that Richie
handles his finances, and then rushes off as they feel another buzz.
Duncan finds Amanda and says "What a surprise!" Amanda wants to know
what Duncan sees in the rival she supposes is at the race track. So
Duncan mentions the horse's attributes ending with "four great feet"
as they approach the stall. Then Richie runs up saying that he closed
the deal for the horse. "For me?!" exclaims Amanda joyfully. Duncan
isn't happy. He says he'll be back in a minute. He asks Richie
privately where Kit is. Richie tells Duncan that Kit is registering
the horse. Duncan tells Richie that his problem is trying to prevent
Kit and Amanda from killing each other. When Duncan finds Kit, he
prevents Kit from going to the stall and running into Amanda there by
saying they should go out to celebrate. They flip for who'll pay.
Duncan is the one who flips the coin this time. He conceals the fact
that Kit lost, so that Kit will think his luck has turned.
In the next scene Amanda is massaging Duncan's back to make amends for
having been so suspicious. Then Amanda says the name of the horse
reminds her of Kit O'Brady. Duncan pretends to be surprised that
Amanda remembers him, and asks Amanda how long she could stay mad at
Kit. "Just about until hell freezes over," Amanda declares.
In the flashback, Amanda has been aware of the Double Eagle for a
while. Amanda asks Duncan if the casino suits her. Duncan says she
put her stamp on it. Amanda says that she's finally made something
she's proud of. "Amanda, you won it in a card game," Duncan objects.
Amanda says she's happier now. Duncan then responds that he's happy
for her. Amanda says they'd be even happier in her hotel room.
