There were all kinds of problems the first year my nephew got married - he

didn't want to eat at his father-in-law's because they do eat gbrokts and 
he, sticking with the minhagim of our family doesn't. His father told him 
that sholem bais and derech eretz are more important and not to worry that

much about eating gbrokts.

I've always been the designated charoset maker too, but then the only
thing 
I don't do is grate the morror -- it's worse than chopping onions. Do you 
know that some company is actually selling salt water this year? Because 
boiling water and adding salt is too difficult?

g'brokts--same as gbrokts
geyr--someone who converted to Judaism
minhagim--traditions
kitniyos--foods such as legumes, some traditions say they are forbidden
food 
on Passover, some not (usually Jews of Sephardic descent)
s'darim--plural of seder
da-ati--religious
misnagdim--orthodox but not Chasidic
ba'al habayis--head of the household
charoset--a dip made especially for use during the seder
sholem bais--keeping peace within your household
derech eretz--respect
morror--grated white horseradish aka the bitter herbs used for the seder

That must have taken some effort to try and translate using a
Hebrew/English 
glossary. Both Morty and I wrote those Hebrew and Yiddish words
phonetically 
and there must be several different ways to spell them (hence the 
Hanukkah/Chanukah/Chanuka/Hanukah 'controversy')..... Kol Hakovod 
(--literally means 'with all respect' used in the same way as 'more power
to 
you')!
