Not sure what you mean by "series".
Ancient or old:
* The Legend of Gilgamesh. It appears on a series of clay tablets.
* the legends of various Greek and Roman gods, goddesses, and heroes
* the Jewish legends of various immortal beings, including some
immortal humans.
* Christian legends of the Wandering Jew
* legends surrounding the Fountain of Youth, the Tree of Life, the
Philosopher's Stone, and the Holy Grail
More recently:
* Book series involving Ayesha by H.R. Haggard, and movies based
thereon. Starts with the book "She", first published in the 1880s.
I've got a copy of the 1930s movie on DVD.
* Lord of the Rings has a number of characters who are immortal as a
consequence of bearing various rings.
* Mel Brooks's 2000-year-old-man comedy series. Presumably immortal.
* Roger Zelanzy's Chronicles of Amber. He also wrote various other
books and short stories with immortal characters, but I can't think
offhand of any others that were a series
* Terry Brooks's Shannara (druid sleep grants druids indefinitely
extended lives)
* David Eddings's Belgariad and Malloreon [sp?] series (immortal
wizards)
* Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality ("immortal" in the name!
Bonus.)
[There are obviously very many other fantasy works involving
immortal characters and predating HL. I can think of more offhand,
and I'm sure I would find still more if I went through my book
collection. But that would take a while, and would still not be
comprehensive. Do you really need more?]
* Supposedly, there was a TV show called "The Immortal" in the 1970s.
I've never seen it.
