I have a buddy who is a Trekkie. He bought the complete Star Trek TOS
VHS collection. Then he bought the complete DVD collection on single
episode DVDs. I waited and now own the complete three season DVD
collection and didn't have to buy a damn bookcase to store the stuff
in, unlike my pal who had to have every inch that Paramount crapped
out. Just as there are stamp collectors who collect stamps that are
errors, so there are fans who collect every permutation of a product.
They are the sort that make it difficult for someone who just wants to
get it right the first time. And to think you can go to the 99 cent
store and buy DVDs 2 for a dollar with as much scratchy "remastering"
as Hogan's Heroes got. Still, we have it better than Perry Mason fans
who got offered a "selection" of episodes instead of the complete
series. Some buy the Mona Lisa; some just want the T-****rt.
